The Jones Hovercraft is a nimble all conditions racer. Take it through the trees or down the slalom!

The new Hovercraft is a modern manifestation of our cult classic alternative freeride shape that features our most advanced 3D shape tech and groundbreaking recycled materials. The Hovercraft’s new shape keeps the floaty nose, compact tail, directional rocker profile and long sidecut that made the original model so nimble and stable, but its been supercharged with 12mm of spoon bevel in the nose for lightning fast turn intiation and a glide accentuating, speed boosting 3D hull in the tail. The new Hovercraft is also built with recycled materials from old snowboards making it the most responsibly produced board in the Jones line. Now a unisex model with sizes to fit riders of every body type, the one and only Hovercraft is ready to win the hearts of powder slashers and all-mountain rippers the world over once again

SPECS

Terrian: Freeride

Board Shape: Directional

Flex: 7/10

Camber: Directional Rocker

3D Contour Base 3.0:

Freeride focused 3D-base contours featuring an even balance of 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 7mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts at the rocker point.

Base:

Sintered 8000 Base – New super durable material made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and carbon. Base is easily repairable, highly wax absorbent and wicked fast.

Flip-Flop Base – Producing two or more base color options minimizes p-tex waste. Order may be filled with either color. Color does not vary by size.

Core: Reclaimed Core – High performance poplar paulownia wood core featuring specially positioned embedded stringers made from reclaimed snowboards.

Biax fiberglass – A dual-direction, dual-layer, stitched fiberglass laminate that provides a fun, forgiving and snappy ride.

Other Features:

Bio Resin – Bio Resin is a bio-based epoxy made with 27% plant-based carbon instead of petroleum-based carbon. The organic raw materials used to make bio-resin are co-products or waste products of plant-based industrial processes. Bio-resin requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions to produce than conventional epoxy.

Oversized recycled edges – All Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and improved production sustainability.

Recycled ABS Sidewalls – ABS Plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. We improve the sustainability of our snowboards by using only recycled plastic.

Factory Tuned – All Jones Snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.

Forever Flex – Forever Flex is a new manufacturing process that helps stabilise the flex and rocker of a board for its lifetime.

Traction Tech 1.0 – Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Traction Tech improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board.

Progressive sidecut – At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.

Blunt nose

Waist Width: 148/249, 152/254, 156/260, 160/264, 164/268

Welcome To Jones 2024

It’s a simple plan, get better every year. It is my goal in all aspects of my life, from mind, body and soul to the products we make, and my impact on the planet. Small forward steps, steady and consistent, taken over time, can defang the loftiest of summits. Because there are no shortcuts. We fall. We learn. We keep going. The longest journeys start with a single step. Rome wasn’t built in a day, nor is the product we make. A first descent might only take a few minutes, but pulling it off is a culmination of thoughtful and purposeful progression over a lifetime of commitment to the craft. It is the same with making gear. What we bring to the world each year is our current high point. That improbable new vista that we could not have gotten to a day earlier because we were lacking the knowledge and experience. Our route may not be a straight line, but our compass has not changed. Make rad shit that does less harm, and lasts a really long time.
